Creation

Creation itself is sacred, and every act of making is an opportunity to participate in the beauty and abundance our Creator has already placed within the world. Creating is not about improving what already exists but responding to it with gratitude, curiosity, and care.When we participate in creation, we begin to see the world differently. We notice more, appreciate more, and care more deeply for the people and places around us. Every act of making becomes an act of thanksgiving, reminding us that beauty is not something we invent, but something we are invited to cultivate and share.

Growing up on the coast of North Carolina taught me to pay attention. The ocean, the maritime forest, shifting tides, and weathered materials shaped the way I see the world long before I became an artist. They taught me that creation is always speaking, if we are willing to listen. I don't think of creation simply as inspiration for my work. I see it as a collaborator and a teacher.
